The Story Behind the Brand

Claudiu comes from the world of professional cocktail culture and mixology competitions, where precision, ingredient quality, and recipe structure are essential. He has been involved in national bartending competitions and industry initiatives, including sustainability projects linked to cocktail culture. 

 

His approach to drinks combines technical discipline with creative experimentation. Many of his recipes draw inspiration from both classical cocktail literature and modern culinary techniques, often using advanced tools such as Thermomix to develop layered flavor bases and complex cordials.

This technical mindset is one of the foundations of Almost Sweet: every cordial is designed not simply as a flavoring, but as a structured ingredient that can consistently reproduce a well-balanced drink.

Alex brings the complementary perspective of bar operations and real-world hospitality dynamics. His experience working behind the bar exposed him daily to the practical challenges faced by venues: inconsistent recipes, staff turnover, and the difficulty of maintaining drink quality when teams lack advanced bartending training.

Where Alex focuses on recipe development and flavor architecture, Claudiu contributes a strong understanding of workflow, service speed, and usability in high-volume environments. This operational insight shaped the philosophy behind the brand: products must not only taste exceptional, but also be easy to use, scalable, and reliable in real service conditions.
